Groups are always welcome at the museum. We have arranged our facilities to maximise the group visitor experience, with wide aisles between exhibits, a special area – the Vung Tau Room - for groups to enjoy morning and afternoon teas and lunches, and trained museum guides to accompany groups around the museum.
Our tour guides are also available for school groups. All of the museum staff and volunteers have Working with Children cards.
Access. Access is important too. We have wheelchairs and pushers for those who might need them, seats to rest on and toilet and parking facilities. In addition a lift operated by our entry staff provides access to our mezzanine level exhibits.
Reunions. Our museum is always available for reunions of Vietnam veterans and their families holding reunions which require official welcomes, tour guides, catering or commemorative arrangements are always welcome.
Our education team is available to assist with school groups seeking an educational experience whether related to the touch points on their curriculum, or to gain a more general understanding of the Vietnam war and its impact. In addition, the Garden of Reflection and our Remembrance and Valour Gallery are open for school commemoration activities.
School groups can use our Vung Tau Room as their classroom and avail of our wireless to access the internet. The museum can also help school groups around their catering needs.
Bus tour operators should discuss the parking and let down and pick up arrangements in advance.
Our Vung Tau Room allows for flexibility for catering. Groups can avail of delicious Devonshire teas and other refreshments, simple or more complex catering for lunches, even ‘meet and greets’ for reunion groups after hours.
Note: Food and drink of any kind is not allowed to be consumed in the museum collection areas.
Groups including schools need to book in advance.
